Hai Duc Pagoda Nha Trang History & Architecture:
Grand Venerable Vien Giac, who constructed the shrine in 1883, was the founder of the Hai Duc Pagoda. In 1891, 1939, 1956, and 2010, the temple received renovations and expansions. Politely and reverently, the Buddha's hall was decorated. Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara and Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha bronze statues, both 2.5m high and 800kg each, were cast in Hue in 2009.
Nguyen Hung Long (nicknamed Ngo Tanh), a Quang Tri native, replaced Grand Venerable Vien Giac after his passing. Venerable Phuoc Hue dwells at the Kim Quang Pagoda in Hue. After serving as abbot of Kim Quang Pagoda and Tang Cang at Bao Quoc Pagoda in the sixth year of Khai Dinh (1921), the venerable monk returned to Hue to serve as Tang Cang." The care of Hai Duc Pagoda must be left to disciples. In the 14th year of Bao Dai (1938), the Venerable Master appointed Master Bich Khong the job of maintaining Hai Duc.
Bich Khong Venerable was born in a family of scholars. This means that Giac Phong Grandmaster was also known as Giac Tu Tinh Quang Grandmaster in the world of Sac Tu Tinh Quang in Quang Tri province, where he completed his baccalaureate year in the year of the Horse (1918). In addition, Nha Trang city was becoming more and more congested, and the carriages were becoming more and more waves. It has become increasingly difficult for the Zen subject to maintain the dignified and pure atmosphere, Master. After three years, Venerable Phuoc Hue identified a successful location to transfer the Hai Duc pagoda. That is Trai Thuy Hill.
Around the mountain, there are many pagodas, including Hai Duc, Long Son, and Linh Phong. Because it is not the largest Buddhist Institute in the Central region, Hai Duc Pagoda is most popular among monks, nuns, Buddhists, and townspeople.
