This waterfall is produced by the confluence of the Krong Ana and Krong No rivers, which form the fabled Serepok River. The Legend of Dray Nur Waterfall:
Unlike other waterfalls in Vietnam, Dray Nur Waterfall is linked to two different tales, each with a unique reason for its name.
In one mythology, Dray Nur translates as "the waterfall of love" and is associated with a sad love affair. Long ago, a young couple from two different villages fell profoundly in love but were met with hostility owing to community tensions. Rejected by their people and unable to resolve their differences, they rushed into the river to be together forever. Enraged by the villagers' selfishness, which led to the young couple's sad decision, a thunderstorm erupted and the river surged, breaking into two branches and separating the two settlements.
According to another tale, Dray Nur Waterfall originated in a cave behind it, which was thought to be the Water Deity's home place. The god had a son called Nur, an adventurous prince who loved to explore. One day, he met two lovely princesses from a nearby country who were living in poverty after losing their father. Nur was moved by their plight, so she accompanied one of them home, cast a charm to fill their house with bountiful rice, and lived happily ever after.
After a while, Nur wished to return to his underwater castle to meet his father. However, his wife was concerned that he might never return, so she did everything she could to keep him from going. Nur, with no other option, turned into a golden dragonfly and flew through the water barrier into the cave to see his father. His wife waited outside, but he never returned. Since then, the people have referred to this waterfall as Dray Nur, which means "the waterfall of the golden dragonfly".

Motorbike: From Buon Ma Thuot's city center, take the Le Duan - To Huu streets to the People's Committee Building in Dray Sap Commune, then follow Provincial Road 682 for approximately 9 kilometers to reach the waterfall. Alternatively, you may reach the waterfall by taking National Road 14, turning left, and continuing straight for approximately 10 kilometers.
Bus: To reach Dray Nur Waterfall in Dak Lak, take bus number 13 (Buon Ma Thuot - Krong No) at the beginning of Nguyen Tat Thanh Street in Buon Ma Thuot's city center. Although a bus journey may take longer than traveling by motorbike, you won't have to bother about navigation because the bus will stop just at the Dray Nur Waterfall.
The best time to view this waterfall is from February to May. During this time, the waterfall divides into several tiny streams, resembling the soft strands of a peaceful fairy's hair. The weather is dry, making it ideal for things such as capturing Instagram-worthy images and going on outdoor excursions near the waterfall.
