Bep Me In Restaurant History:
The lively street food of twentieth-century Saigon transports you back in time. Traditional foods that previously adorned the modest food booths of the city's forefathers are now beloved mainstays among its present residents. These dinners, basic in their preparation but rich in history, are served from wandering carts that periodically reverberate with the clatter of ladles and pots, a rhythmic reminder of Saigon's thriving culinary culture. We are happy to preserve and serve this unique combination of flavors and tales from the previous century at our restaurant.
I've never dared to criticize my mother's rice since it tastes so good—a bowl full of her affection, with each sticky grain representing her care. The rice is not only delicate but also rich in significance.
During my childhood, when I would accompany my parents to the rice fields, my mother would declare that each grain was not simply rice but valuable pearls, which I enthusiastically failed to grasp. I understand the significance of her comments now that I am an adult. Being away from family dinners makes me miss the comforting fragrance of our homeland's rice.
The rice mother makes may be commonplace, and the fire she lights simply a modest straw burner, but meals shared with family—my father, my brother—turn into feasts of togetherness, especially while away from home. There were times when she just had fish sauce to complement the rice, but those meals tasted plenty.
Every grain represents a drop of my parents' sweat, cultivated on our cherished native soil.
Bep Me In will make you feel as if you are entering someone's house and the mom is cooking in the rear kitchen. In our kitchen. Being here, you will find numerous typical foods that Vietnamese mothers prepare for their families, offering a sense of warmth and childhood memories, simple yet unforgettable.

Inside, the vibrant yellow walls are designed to resemble the exteriors of village homes, complete with blue shutters. The restaurant offers a good bustle and an inviting atmosphere. Sit on one of the wooden seats, as the regulars do, and try the trademark Vietnamese pancake with shrimp and pork, served in a small bamboo basket. Fried rice with shrimp and egg served in a coconut shell is also a must-try. The service is courteous, and the quantities are ideal for sharing.
Banh Xeo, or Vietnamese pancake, is a must-try. It comes in two varieties: Vietnamese Pancake with Shrimp and Pork (VND139.000) and Vietnamese Seafood Pancake Banh Xeo Hai San (VND239.000).
The crispy shell is produced with rice flour, water, and turmeric powder, giving it a characteristic yellow color.
The Grilled Chicken Leg with Chilli Salt (VND129.000) may not appear very fancy here, but it was nonetheless delicious and flavorful. Straightforward home-style food is spiced up with a generous sprinkling of chili salt. Do dip it in that zesty, spicy, and somewhat sweet sauce. It goes well with steaming white rice, but Fried Rice in Coconut with Shrimp and Egg (VND149.000) served in a coconut shell is an upgrade.
